Of zits and Pcs

I just met a customer to pass her a dress cos she stays just a block away from me. Her first reaction when she saw me was to ask me whether I was a student. Muahahah. It has been quite awhile since someone ‘complimented’ me like that.

Then again, it could be due to the gigantic zit on my face =(

Anyway, the worst thing to happen to me has happened. My laptop has crashed while my pc does not have MS Office installed. I’m gonna have lots of problems with my work but thank God for my trusty pc repair man Bernard, who will come by to pick up both the pc and laptop from me to help me transfer the data over. He has saved my laptop and data a couple of times and he gives the best rates and service so anyone who needs help with your laptop/pc, lemme know and I’ll give you his contact!

Honeymoon at Turi Beach Resort

Got kissed on the backside by a WRX

Note: It wasn’t that badly damaged. There was just a few scratches, dents and our boot couldn’t be closed. This picture was taken after all the outer shell was removed.

Got a 2.4 Honda Accord to drive while Mr CTR was in the hospital. The back seat could be brought down so we took the chance to bring our doggies out for a drive!

Ah boy was so curious and poked his nose into everywhere. Daddy jam braked to let him slide all the way into the boot. And our dear boy stayed in there for quite a while.

Went  for youth leaders’ retreat at Gallery Hotel. Having drinks in the hotel bbar…

How come my back’s so ramrod straight???

Highlight of the month: F1

The evening view from our seats. On the right

and on the left

Poor bloke crashed into the gate and all the typical Singaporeans rushed down to snap some pics. I wasn’t one of the typical Singaporean. This shot was taken by hubs haha

Tired out from all the walking in and out of the race track

The only photo I took of our wedding anniversary this year, my love letter to hubs underneath

200-day Grain Fed Beef

Hubs: I wonder how is the beef grain-fed for 200 days. Do they stuff the grains in?

Me: Huh? No la, they feed the cows grain for 200 days.

Hubs gives me with an incredulous look with a smile.

Me: Oh ya. Cows don’t eat rice, they eat grass.

Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary

As mentioned in my previous post, I was in charge of this year’s celebrations.

After a bit of research and planning, our itinerary was:

Breakfast/brunch at Singapore Arts House (one of the romantic cafes listed by the internet)
-cancelled as hubby had to bring the car to do something about the camper kit that was digging into the tyres.
I took the opportunity to write him a love letter that I didn’t get the chance to write cos I was either busy doing research for the big day or working and by the time hubs was back, I couldn’t write properly

Lunch: Free and Easy
We ended up having a 5/6-course lunch set at Lao Beijing.
The crab roe and abalone soup and fried toufu was nice but the rest were so-so. It was a good experience though cos it came in individual dishes Wedding Dinner style except we had small portions each and it was lunchtime.

Couple spa at Raffles Town Club
Another fun experience. Our first experience in Spa much less couple spa. I was pretty shocked when I was told to disrobe. Me being suaku thought that they had some method for us removing our clothes without being exposed. I was even more shocked when the scrub went all the way to my vital parts at the chest, all in the presence of the two ladies and hubby! *faintz*
Hubby was quite horrified with the scrub cos he’s very sensitive and gets tickled very easily so he was laughing so hard when he got scrubbed at the inner thighs and armpits and all. Oh ya we were allowed to keep our bottom undies (provided by them) on.

Movies at the Cathay Cineplex
We seldom go to the movies and we’ve never stepped into the Cathay Cineplex ever since it was opened. However, hubs overturned my itinerary by suggesting we go shopping for his pressie instead. I didn’t buy the item in the end cos it was too pricey for me to choose the design for him and I gave him a paper watch(in my love letter mentioned above)

Dinner at Halia
Highlight of the day! We had dinner at Halia. I read from Miin’s blog about their celebs last year and how good the food was. After some research on the internet on “Singapore’s Top 10 Romantic Restaurants”, I decided Halia was it. And the food was indeed superb. Everything from the “200-day grain fed aged ribeye beef steak” to the beer to the chocolate dessert. We had dinner outdoors beside the lush greenery and the soothing sounds of the man-made waterfall nearby. The weather that day was good and the waiters were super attentive, yet discreet enough to let you fully enjoy a private dining experience. Hubs enjoyed that place so much he overturned my final destination at Equinox and had his drinks at Halia instead. Though it was our priciest meal ever (about $170+), the grain fed aged beef was worth every dollar.

You may be wondering where are the photos. That’s because I forgot the cammie and I was enjoying myself so much I forgot to use my iphone to take down some shots. Such a pity but hubs commented that he thinks he can remember this year’s celebs even without the photos.

I think it’s the experience of doing new things together that makes it very romantic. And me was a happy woman cos hubs told me that when he told his female korean colleague that he didn’t know what we were doing for our anniversary cos I was the one planning it, she oohed and wow-ed saying I was a very nice person and a good wife.

Haha I guess it’s common for most cultures that the husband plans the wedding anniv?

As I did my research for our anniv, I found that there were many ladies who did romantic things for their hubbies. From wearing their wedding gown again to lighting the room with candles and throwing petals everywhere on the floor to writing sweet letters. I never knew guys needed romance cos they always seemed to be the one to not know how to romance a girl. Then I realised many of the boyfriends/husbands were touched by what their girls did for them.  One husband even commented that his wife watching a soccer game with him was romantic. So…

Anniversaries are good cos they help us to tune ourselves back to each other and put that special touch back into our relationship, even if it’s only for a day =)

Some quick updates

A couple of updates before I rush off again.

1.Our wedding anniversary is coming in two days and I’m in charge of planning the celebrations for this year. I’ve planned a couple spa and dinner but that’s not gonna take up the whole day. Helppp!!!

2. I’ve received my anniversary present from hubby but i haven’t bought one for him yet. Argghhhh. Help! I know there’s something he’s been eyeing but it’s super exp. Have been debating with myself for ages on whether to make that splurge. =(

3. I’ve started cooking! So far, I”ve cooked kimchi soup, kimchi ramen, sesame chicken, sambal prawns, olive rice, beef steak, broccoli, old gourd soup (lao huang gua tang???), grilled prawns and all sorts of eggs. Hubs had kimchi ramen the other day at some resturant and he complained that mine was better. I didn’t know I can derive so much joy and satisfaction from seeing hubs’ blissful face when he gets to eat dinner cooked by his wife.

4. Have engaged a part-time maid to help me with my housework. I haven’t been updating because I’m so busy trying to juggle two jobs, household chores and take up cooking for hubs. Thank God the part-time maids have been pretty good so far. Now hubs doesn’t even have to iron his own clothes.

5. Went for our first F1 race. I fell asleep during the final race. The cars were so loud we had to wear ear plugs but our dinner and the monotonous droning of the engines made me so drowsy I konked out for awhile.

6. We splurged a lil recently on a 50″ tv and bought a 42″ for my parents. We have even less reason to go to the movies now.

7.I’ve been wanting to catch the Coco Chanel movie but hubs doesn’t want. Whine growl mumble.

Will try to load some photos in soon! Thanks for those who have been checking on my blog regularly. My poor mushroomy cobwebby blog…

We (This blog and Me) are growing mushrooms

I haven’t blogged in such a long time I kind of forgot how my blog looks like =(

Managing an online business also means long hours sitting in front of the computer. I feel like mushrooms are gonna grow out of me from sitting down so much.

These days have been packed back to back for us. We have been drinking unboiled water today cos I didn’t have time to boil water!

Hubby is supposed to be doing a report but he’s now on the floor wrapped up in a blanket concussed.

Hubs: Bi wake me up 45mins later k. I need a break before I can continue with the report.

1145pm: No response to human alarm.

12am: Single response: Frown.

1245am: Zero response.

As for me, I had planned to sleep at 2am after I’m finished with the parcels for today but I’ve not even started on them after I finished the entry on the pre-order. I have this bad feeling I may end up sleeping only in the morning. =(

Am gonna continue with my invoices. I’m so sloooooow at them. Really gotta put in that shopping cart real soon man!

To Wendy if you’re reading this: Hubs and me have been wanting to visit you but there’s always lessons/colleagues to meet/invoices to clear/parcels to wrap/reports to rush this entire week.  Sorry babe! We’ll visit you when we get back from Turi Beach ok? I can’t wait to see Ethan!

Little Joys

This week has been packed with preparations for the next collection, the upcoming flea at Singapore Expo and lessons. Thank God for the little blessings He gave.

1) Email from a customer in the morning:

“Hi Huiling, I wore the dress [Rosella] for the event and got good feedback. here’s a pic for u …”

Totally unexpected and so kind of her =)

2) A comment from one of my [female] students in the evening:

Student: Teacher, I very honoured to have you as my teacher leh.

Me: Why?

Student: Because you very pretty.

Haha so random right.  You can imagine the three wavy lines coming out from my head like “La Pi Xiao Xing”.

Anyway, it got me floating for a while keke. The little perks of my job. Thank you God for giving me such wonderful jobs!

Next collection for Loef should be out by tonight. Do check them out alright? =)

Updates

Finally uploaded the latest entry for Loef. Am so gonna konkz man. Hubs is so gonna kill me tmr when he finds out I’ve been up so late again =(

Thank God Yun helped me this time round with the uploading of the photos and some of the text. If not I think I’ll hear the rooster crow before I even finish!

Now you know how much work I’ve put into Loef, so do drop by at www.loef.wordpress.com to take a look alright?

Some quick updates before I end off.

Mac-in-mode

Conducted at Former Swissotel, forgot what’s the new name of the hotel =P

IMG_1552

My very first makeup workshop. Have always had a good impression of Mac makeup techniques after seeing how a makeover transformed my friend during our dancesport days.

So when I saw the workshop going at a mere $50 fully redeemable for their products, I jumped at the chance to learn some professional makeup skills keke.

We were presented with an array of makeup tools and products, most of them brand new for us to have hands-on practice during the workshop.

The gorgeous model whom Beano (I’m not sure how to spell his name) demo-ed on.

The bar at the side where drinks and cookies were served.

Check out the top from loef.wordpress.com

Me and shifu. Can’t really tell the diff from the photos but hubs could tell when I met him after that. Now he’s an advocate of Mac liquid foundation haha. He loves how natural it looks.

As for me, I learnt quite a few tricks and I love the new looks they taught us. It was actually the latest fashion trends being toned down for normal usage. We were also given a pre-makeup fix+ and oil makeup remover to bring home. Throughly enjoyed myself. =D

Tian Mi Mi

Recently we had a gigantic fight, complete with lots of spiteful remarks, sarcasm and words that were dramtically damaging to any relationship. The fight seemed endless with every sentence being taken negatively from the other party.

However, I think we both understand each other’s feelings better now. I try not to work when hubs’ around and wake up earlier instead to clear my backlog. And he’s trying to love me more like how Jesus would.

He said that when we say nasty things to each other, we’re actually hurting ourselves, cos we are one. Especially for him. Cos he’s supposed to love me as himself. Eph 5:28

It’s now 4 days after the fight and I’m still living in bliss. The days and nights following the fight have been exceptionally sweet. Hubs brought me out for a hot date on Monday night, complete with steamboat, live crabs, shopping, Mt Faber and a cruise along Sentosa bridge.

Last night he brought me to a shop I wanted to visit for a long time and we went Bukit Timah area for dinner, followed by a cruise along the roads before heading home.

Tonight he’s cooking dinner for me.

Hee so blissful =DDD

Let the Pictures do the talking

Due to the overwhelming amount of work that comes from holding two careers, tons of photos have been accumulating in my cammie and not been downloaded into my pc.

Hubby’s very busy killing the terrorists on “Call of Duty” on his PS3 so I’m squeezing some time in to blog b4 bringing the dogs out.

Bringing Shernise out without hubby and a car so I brought a nanny along.

@ Andy’s birthday celebration. Check out the tube top from my blog shop at loef.wordpress.com ^_^

My dearest cell group from church. Birthday boy in the middle with his missus aka fiancee.

Hubby and Zia. Zia’s eyes at 1 years old is bigger than hubby’s eyes at 27 years old keke.

We meet Heli and Audrey for dinner on thursday as sort of a brothers-sisters day. Heli commented that there’s mother’s day and father’s day but no brothers’ and sisters’ day so we randomly set up a date for it and celebrated over French food at The French Kitchen.

Giant Profiterole – Yummilicious!

Special dark chocolate cake – The BEST chocolate cake I ever tasted. It was slightly crispy on the outside and the inside was so fluffy it was like melt-in-your-mouth. We were all oohing and aahing about it the moment we tasted it haha.

Then we decided to be happening and go check out the pubs and clubs at Clarke Quay.

Me and hubby. Check out the layered vest from my blogshop =)

A photo taken at the entrance of the toilet.

Hubby has completed his mission. Time to bring the doggies out!
